This in person refresher course meets all the competency requirements of the units covered.
It covers:
Confined Space Definition, Legislation, Standards & Code Of Practice, Hazards, Risk Assessment, Control Measures, Roles and Responsibilties, Gas Testing & Ventilation Techniques, Safety Equipment including safety harnesses, Gas Monitors, Access Equipment. It also covers Safe Working Methods & Permit.
The course includes extensive practicals including side entry and vertical entry and an introduction to Emergency & Rescue Planning.

This course is assessed by a series of written and practical components, including inspection, fault finding and troubleshooting of equipment, risk assessment, preparation of and safe entry into a confined space.
This course has been mapped between level 2 and 3 of the Australian Core Skills Framework. It is recommended that participants provide evidence of their Foundation Skill Level prior to the commencement of the course.

This course features considerable physical activity and may require hanging in a safety harness and entry to dark spaces which some learners may find claustrophobic.
